Not Registered to Vote? Get it done now.

You must be registered NO LATER than May 22, 2026 to vote in the June 16th primary election. You do not become a registered voter until the County Election Board Secretary in the county where you reside has approved your application. Once your application has been approved, you will be mailed a Voter Identification Card to confirm your registration. Your Voter Identification Card can be used as "proof of identity" at the polls on Election Day and during "early voting." Your Voter Identification Card lists your name, address, political affiliation and the polling place for your voting precinct. When you receive your card, look at it carefully and report any errors to your County Election Board immediately:

  • TO REGISTER ONLINE - Register online using the OK Voter Portal's Online Voter Registration System(An Oklahoma Driver License/State ID and a signature on file with Service Oklahoma is required.)

  • TO REGISTER BY MAIL -

  • TO REGISTER IN PERSON -

    • Register at your County Election Board office.

    • Register at your local tag agency when you apply for, update, or renew your Driver License or State ID. Submitted applications will be mailed to the State Election Board by the agent at no cost.

    • Register with select public assistance agencies when you apply for, update, or renew services. Submitted applications will be mailed to the State Election Board by the agent at no cost.

  • MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS OR OVERSEAS OKLAHOMANS -

 

 

2. Already Registered? Check for accuracy.

Log into the Oklahoma Voter Portal to check and make sure all of your voter registration TODAY and verify accuracy.

  • Make sure your name and address are correct.

  • Make sure your party affiliation is correct.

  • Check your correct polling location - many of these have changed recently - make sure you know where you are supposed to go vote in-person.

 

 

3. Need to make changes? Here’s how:

  • FOR ADDRESS CHANGES - MUST BE DONE BY MAY 22, 2026 TO BE VALID FOR JUNE PRIMARY

    • If you still reside in the same county, you can change your political affiliation and address online using the OK Voter Portal.

    • If you have moved to a new county OR need to change your name, you will need to fill out a new Voter Registration Application.

  • TO CHANGE POLITICAL PARTY AFFILIATION - MUST BE DONE BY MARCH 31, 2026 TO BE VALID FOR JUNE PRIMARY

    • Oklahoma has three recognized parties: Democratic Party, Libertarian Party, and Republican Party. You can register as a member of any recognized party in Oklahoma or select “No Party” (Independent).

    • Generally speaking, you must be a registered voter of a party in order to vote in that party’s primary election.

      • Republican Primaries - ONLY Registered Republicans. (85% of primary races)

      • Democratic Primaries - Registered Democrats & Independents (15% of primary races)

      • Libertarian Primaries - ONLY Registered Libertarians (0% of primary races)

You may legally change your party registration at any time with one exception. You may not change your political affiliation during the period from April 1 through August 31, inclusive, in any even-numbered year. The last day on which you may change your political affiliation before the closed period is March 31; the first day on which you may change your political affiliation after the closed period is September 1. Applications received during the closed period will be held and processed after August 31.

 

 

4. Gone in June? Vote by absentee ballot.

There are different types of absentee ballots for different situations. Find yours below and click link to find out how to get set up to vote by mail. You may apply for NOW absentee ballots for one election, for several elections, or for all elections during the calendar year, in which the application is submitted. Your ballot will be automatically sent to you. If you end up voting in person instead, just take your absentee ballot with you to the polls and sign an affidavit to vote in-person instead!

  • STANDARD ABSENTEE - “Standard” absentee ballots are the most common types of absentee ballots. No excuse is required to request a “standard” absentee ballot. By law, “standard” absentee ballot affidavits are required to be notarized.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR STANDARD ABSENTEE.

  • PHYSICALLY INCAPACITATED (AND CAREGIVERS) - “Physically incapacitated” absentee ballots are available to those who are physically incapacitated and their caregivers. The absentee ballot affidavit must have the voter’s signature witnessed by two people.   • VISUALLY IMPAIRED OR BLIND - Accessible Absentee Ballots are available to those who are considered blind, as defined by Title 7, Section 72. The Accessible Absentee Ballot Affidavit must have the voter’s signature witnessed by two people. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED ABSENTEE.

  • NURSING HOME OR VETERANS CENTER - Voters confined to a nursing home or veteran’s center in the county where they are registered to vote may apply for absentee ballots to be delivered to them by the County Election Board Secretary. Voters confined to a nursing home or veteran’s center outside the county where they are registered to vote may apply for a “physically incapacitated” absentee ballotCLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR NURSING HOME OR VETERANS CENTER ABSENTEE.

  • MILITARY OR OVERSEAS - Uniformed services members, their spouses and dependents and U.S. citizens who reside outside of the country are eligible to apply for a Military or Overseas Absentee Ballot. Applicants must meet the qualification requirements of 26 O.S. § 14-137.

  • EMERGENCY INCAPACITATED - Voters who become physically incapacitated after 5 p.m. on the third Monday (15 days) preceding an election and are unable to vote in person due to their physical incapacitation, may receive an absentee ballot through special emergency procedures. Reasons may include incapacitation due to childbirth or hospitalization. Absentee ballot affidavits must be witnessed by two people. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR EMERGENCY INCAPACITATED ABSENTEE.

  • FIRST RESPONDERS AND EMERGENCY WORKERS - Voters who are deployed after 5 p.m. on the third Monday (15 days) preceding an election as a first responder or emergency worker, “to assist with the rescue, recovery, or relief efforts of a declared natural disaster or state of emergency,” may be eligible to apply. Absentee ballot affidavits must be notarized. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR FIRST RESPONDER ABSENTEE.

Absentee Ballot Notary Services

For your convenience, many banks, credit unions, libraries, businesses and organizations offer free absentee ballot notary services to customers and non-customers alike. In Oklahoma, notaries may not charge a fee to notarize an absentee ballot affidavit.

You can track your absentee ballot to ensure it has been received by logging into the Oklahoma Voter Portal - go to the Voter Information section and click on the Absentee Ballot Section to view the status of your ballot.

 

 

5. Be prepared.

AT LEAST ONE WEEK OUT FROM THE ELECTION DAY, TAKE TIME TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Log into the Oklahoma Voter Portal, go to the Voter Information section and do the following:

  • VERIFY POLLING LOCATION - click “Your Polling Place” button - don’t show up to the wrong place!

  • VIEW SAMPLE BALLOT - click “Sample Ballot” button - you can save or print - take note of what candidates will be on yours!

  • FIND EARLY VOTING SPOTS - click “Upcoming Elections” button - it’s to the right of sample ballots under voting locations>view info button.

  • ACCESS OUR MAKE IT COUNT VOTER GUIDE - all candidates on the June primary will be listed in our guide, including available websites, social media, and contact information. This will be released to the public and on our website no later than May 16th.

  • COMPLETE YOUR “TEN TO WIN” - take our challenge of contacting AT LEAST 10 of your friends and family to make sure they know to GO VOTE! Bonus points - text them or call the night before to remind them!

 

 

6. Show up and VOTE - June 16, 2026!

IT’S THE BIG DAY! MAKE IT COUNT!

  • POLLS ARE OPEN 7AM - 7PM - Anyone in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

  • BRING PROPER IDENTIFICATION - All registered voters must show proof of identity to vote in person on Election Day or during early voting.

    • A photo ID issued by the United States, Oklahoma, or a federally recognized tribal government (must have a name, photo, and expiration date later than the election).

    • The free voter identification card issued by the County Election Board (this does not require a photo).

    • No ID? You can still vote by provisional ballot by signing a sworn affidavit. If the information on the affidavit matches your voter registration records, your ballot will be counted after Election Day.

  • VOTER ASSISTANCE -

    • Precinct officials are trained to assist voters with physical disabilities, visual impairment, or who are unable to read or enter the polling place.

    • You can choose anyone to help you, except your employer or an agent of your employer or union.

    • Accessible ballot marking devices with audio tactile interfaces (ATI) are available at all polling places for voters to vote privately and independently.

  • ELECTIONEERING - no campaign materials are allowed within 300 feet of the voting booths - THIS INCLUDES CLOTHING/HATS/BUTTONS, ETC. So, even if you are super pumped about a candidate, do NOT wear any campaign gear to go vote or they will make you go change and come back.

  • GRAB YOUR STICKER AND SNAP A SELFIE - YOU DID IT! You made your vote count in the most important election in Oklahoma! We want to celebrate with you!
